IT Support Engineer – Oswestry

IT Support Engineer required for an established organisation based in Oswestry, near Telford, where you will be responsible for overseeing a small/medium IT infrastructure, working with a global IT team for support on projects. Within the role, you will be responsible for a range of 1st – 3rd line issues, anywhere from maintaining the server environment, to performing laptop configuration and user support, to providing recommendations on the IT roadmap for the long-term (software, hardware planning etc).

The ideal candidate will have excellent all-round technical ability, with particular experience around Windows, Microsoft Office, server support and networking.

Key Skills of the role

  • Commercial experience in an IT Support role, with experience of Windows, Microsoft Office, Desktop, Servers and Networking (LAN), as well as Notebook hardware (preferably Dell/Lenovo)
  • A current MCP, MCITP, ITIL or Desktop Support Technician qualification would be ideal
  • Provide 1st/2nd line support to existing systems, including server/desktop patching, networking firmware upgrades/patching
  • Manage the distribution and maintenance of IT assets, including mobiles, laptops, iPads etc
  • The ideal candidate will have experience providing IT support alone or as part of a small team, with experience managing contractors/vendors
  • Possess excellent time management skills, and the ability to self-manage effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for multiple reporting tiers


The salary for this position is between £30,000 – £35,000 per annum depending on experience, plus excellent benefits.
