Release Train Engineer required for a leading Financial Services Company based in Milton Keynes to be responsible for leading an Agile and Continuous Delivery transformation, contributing to the continual improvement of how they build software; instilling Scrum, Kanban and Lean principles into the organisation. Coaching Leaders, Product Managers, teams and Scrum teams to drive change in processes and mind-set.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior stakeholders to ensure new software and business driven initiatives are implemented in alignment with the overall Business Strategy.
  • Coach leaders, Scrum Teams and Product Owners in lean agile practices to enable cultural change across the company.
  • Be an inspiring Agile servant leader at the programme level, building collaboration within and across the Agile Release Trains
  • Lead ART level risks and issues to conclusion
  • Lead ART level sessions, such as the scrum of scrum removing impediments
  • to enable continuous delivery
  • Lead the Business and IT department through quarterly Programme Increment (PI) Planning
  • Lead programme execution, reporting and tracking and help to drive programme-level continuous improvement
  • Support the Agile Centre of Excellence in aligning SAFe to fit the organisation.
  • Establish and communicate schedules for Programme Increments (PIs) to ensure matured backlog for release train approval to commence delivery
  • Facilitate an aggregated roadmap and team backlogs through Programme Increment (PI) planning readiness fostering a continuous exploration process.
  • Coordinate major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers where multiple teams, release trains or system groups are involved in development

Key Skills

  • Certified in RTE, Scrum Master or Agile Programme Management
  • Experience with Lean Portfolio management for programme delivery including road mapping, prioritisation and budgeting
  • Experience in Continuous Improvements or Process Management in IT delivery organisations
  • Demonstrable experience of hands on leadership with proven ability to successfully lead and manage large-scale process development and improvement initiatives
  • Significant experience in the SAFe framework including a deep understanding of Lean agile frameworks
  • Live by the agile and SAFe values and principles
  • Leader who can build relationships, has integrity and is able to collaborate across diverse groups
  • Strong negotiation skills and influencing skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data and arguments in a way that is accessible to everyone.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver solutions

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in Business Programme or Portfolio Management
  • Experience working in a matrix environment
  • Qualification in SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4)
  • Qualification SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE4)

The salary my client is offering for this position is between £60,000 and £77,000 per annum depending on experience as well as an excellent benefits package.
