Crimson Support WHG Transformation Plans by Delivering Key IT Personnel

Walsall Housing Group IT Recruitment

The customer

Walsall Housing Group (WHG) is a leading social housing landlord in the midlands with around 21,000 homes in the region.

The Challenge

WHG were looking to source 18 professional roles within a 6-month period. From Project Managers and Analysts, to Developers. The average salary across the roles was £37,000. Attracting and retaining the best talent is imperative to WHG as they require highly skilled individuals to help them achieve their 10-year transformation plan.

The Strategy

Crimson’s Senior Appointments Practice Lead, has over 10 years’ experience in candidate attraction and an extremely established network. Chris worked in partnership with the management team at WHG to understand their requirements and build a tailored recruitment campaign; in three sprints to suit WHG’s budget. Within days Chris was onsite to conduct a Discovery meeting with hiring managers and key stakeholders. After a full day discussing role requirements, salary trends and cultural fit, WHG opted to take advantage of Crimson’s Brand Elevation service.

The Brand Elevation Service

The Brand Elevation service is a pick and mix marketing package whereby clients can select various campaign tools. Utilising video enabled WHG to reach a wider audience and capture the hearts and minds of potential employees. The authentic footage featured WHG employees and is an asset that the housing group can continue to use to convey the culture of the organisation.

In addition to an innovative campaign WHG also wanted to save time when shortlisting candidates. Therefore, Chris devised interview questions and used video to support the selection process. Crimson managed the interview sessions whilst WHG could listen in to the live responses.

The ROI

The campaign was a success, Crimson sourced all 18 candidates. The partnership has gone from strength to strength with several new contract placements and an ongoing agreement.

The Customer’s Words

Zoe Larter, IT Projects Director, at Walsall Housing Group, said:

We selected Crimson because they understood how important our culture was when searching for new colleagues. They demonstrated they had the capacity to deliver a robust and engaging recruitment campaign whilst also offering excellent value for money.  As with most recruitment campaigns, our recruitment requirements would often change but this never phased Crimson who were accommodating whilst delivering to the agreed timescales.  The calibre of candidates that Crimson sourced were extremely high.  The most refreshing quality of Crimson is that they are very honest. When they are unable to recruit to a role, they have an open conversation about how you may want to relook at the job role so that the right candidate can be found.  In summary I have no hesitation recommending Crimson.
