Lead Technical Developer – Contract – Leeds
Hybrid working – 3 days / week on site required
Competitive day rate – Outside IR35
We are currently recruiting for a well experienced Lead Technical Developer, required for a leading global transformation consultancy, based in Leeds. The Lead Technical Developer will be responsible for providing hands-on, technical expertise within an agile team. The ideal candidate will be well experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital products.
Key skills and responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to development by coding hands-on while guiding the team and overseeing technical delivery for assigned digital products.
- Develop new features in Java and Angular, collaborating closely with Product Owners and Architects.
- Define and uphold engineering best practices through effective code reviews and feedback to maintain quality and consistency.
- Support services during office hours, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Mentor and coach junior developers to strengthen team capability and performance.
- Drive innovation and problem-solving, fostering a proactive, collaborative, and continuous learning culture within the team.
- Hands-on technical expertise with: AWS Services: ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, Apigee
- Languages & Frameworks: Java (Spring Boot), AngularJS, Node.js (v10), TypeScript
- Tooling: GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Fortify on Demand (or equivalent), SonarQube (or equivalent)
- Testing: Cypress/Selenium, BDD (Gherkin) with Karate/Cucumber, Jest
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience, combined with strong stakeholder management and clear communication across all organizational levels.
- Ability to define and implement best engineering practices across multiple teams to ensure quality and consistency.
