The Client:
The Client is an international courier delivery services company with headquarters in the Netherlands. The firm has operations in 61 countries, including the UK, and delivers documents, parcels, and pieces of freight to more than 200 countries. The company recorded sales of €6.91 billion in 2015. A major American logistics firm reached an agreement to buy The Client in April 2015, which was completed in May 2016.
The Challenge:
In 2014, UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company, attempted to buy The Client. As a result, The Client underwent a large-scale transformation programme which was designed to outsource many areas of their UK IT team to third party off-shore vendors. This programme involved updating all The Client’s data centres, as well as its telephony, and technology infrastructure.
Several key members of the IT team left The Client as part of this programme. The company needed to build a new temporary team of staff in the UK to help to deliver this project. 77 skilled staff were required, including; business and stakeholder focused project managers, programme managers, solutions architects, business analysts, infrastructure developers, and application developers.
Four IT recruitment agencies, including Crimson, were working in competition to fill these roles.
The Solution:
Led by Senior Consultant Gary Wills, Crimson began to search. We advertised the roles on a range of online platforms, our fulfilment function scoured our database, and our senior consultants reached out their extensive networks of contacts.
Crimson are renowned within the IT sector for our ability to find first-class programme and project managers, and skilled developers.
The ROI:
Over an 18-month period Crimson sourced 48 skilled contractors for The Client.
One of four IT recruitment agencies working on this programme, Crimson filled 54% of the roles. These appointments helped The Client deliver this programme successfully.
Two years on, some of Crimson’s contractors remain as valuable assets within The Client’s IT team and we still have a great relationship with the company.
The Client’s Words:
The Client’s Project Delivery Director said: “We have worked with Crimson for 15 years and they’ve always done a great job, so when this programme was launched we immediately approached them for support.
“The contractors they provided were skilled and experienced, and they played a crucial role in this programme.”
The Recruiter’s Words:
Gary Wills, Senior IT Recruitment Consultant at Crimson, said: “I’ve personally worked with The Client’s IT team for four years and our track record shows what can be achieved through good communication and strong on-going professional relationships. I look forward to supporting The Client on more projects in the future.”
