September is traditionally the month of change – whether it is a new year at school or University, or simply the change in seasons as Autumn and Winter approach. At Crimson, September signifies a new beginning for 12 individuals, that joined the IT solutions team earlier this month. Crimson has grown rapidly over the past few years, and today (7th September 2020) marks the milestone of 100 employees.
2020 has been shaped by the coronavirus, which has impacted nearly every business across the UK. The pandemic has highlighted the importance of technology and IT infrastructure that can support home working. Many organisations have reached out to Crimson for support and re-assessed their digital transformation plan. The surge in activity has enabled Crimson to continue hiring, including ten new apprentices and additional support for the IT solutions team. Reaching 100 employees is an excellent achievement for the organisation that celebrates its 20th anniversary next year.
Judith Wilson, Crimson’s Corporate Executive is the longest-running employee at 17 years. Judith joined the company in 2003, and her role has developed inline with the company. When asked about her time at Crimson, Judith remarked “I have no idea where the last 17 years have gone! Joining the Crimson family was one of the best decisions I have ever made. There have been challenges over the years, as with any job, but the opportunities have allowed me to learn and grow as a person and the support from my colleagues at every level has been invaluable. When I joined there were a handful of employees and hitting the 100 milestone is a great achievement for everyone who has worked so hard to get where we are now. I am proud to be part of the Crimson success story and look forward to the next chapter.”
From the longest-running employee to the newest – Kevin O’Neill, who has joined Crimson as Infrastructure Team Leader was unaware of the significance when beginning his new role. Kevin will be officially starting on the 8th, and we’re ready to welcome him to the team as employee number 100!

To celebrate the occasion, each employee received some homemade cake. With many employees working from home and social distancing still in place, it’s not the right time for a group celebration; however, the planning is in motion.
